Population CARONI 2010, 804 167 inhabitants.

Its tourism potential is linked to the Business Tourism, Agriculture, Sports and Ecological. It is recommended to visit among other attractions: The Parks "Cachamay", "Loefling", "The Rain" and his Theatre of Stone, "The Foundation" and "Christmas" with the Eco Water Plaza, Tourist Circuits Basic Business, the Palacio Municipal de San Felix and his Malecón, the squares of the Iron, and Miranda Flags and Missions of the Caroni.

Its capital Ciudad Guayana, is considered the 5th most important city in Venezuela, as chair of the Core Business of the State. It is made by the people of Puerto Ordaz and San Felix. The first, founded in 1961, is an industrial leader in the global metal production, and the second located at the mouth of the Caroni River, founded in 1628 by Capuchin missionaries, is liaison River Port eastern Venezuela and the rest of world. Ruins of the Caroni Missions: Ruins consolidated the mission of the Immaculate Conception of the Caroni of the Capuchin friars of the eighteenth century Catalan. Caroni River: Born in the western slope of Mount Roraima-tepuy, is the largest tributary of the Orinoco River, the second volume of Venezuela, runs about 840 kilometers from its source, to save a level of 912 feet to its confluence with the Orinoco. In its lower reaches, at the height of the barrel of Nekuima, the river presents a bottleneck in which the dam was built Raúl Leoni (Guri). Parque Punta Vista: urban park is part of Caroni, has an area of 25 hectares including the lake bearing the same name.

Cachamay Park: Takes its name from the rapids of the lower Caroni, which consists of 52 hectares of green areas and a variety of vegetation.

Cachamay Falls: One of the falls below the Rio Caroni river in last season's breakneck ride to the mouth of the Orinoco.

Loefling Park: Named after the Swede Peter Loefling, in recognition of research conducted on flora, in the famous expedition of boundaries led by José de Iturriaga, a task that linked first European science in Venezuela. It is an area of 245 hectares, it aims to accommodate and preserve animal species and vegetation of the region in danger of extinction, there is variety of wildlife as váquiros, monkeys, tigers, dogs, water, among others.

Christmas Park: Opened on December 2, 1988, was conceived as a permanent exhibition of the spirit of Christmas, consists of a playground, a windmill as a lookout, monolith of aluminum, concrete walkways, green areas and lead soldiers . Parque La Rain: It has an area of 160 hectares, consisting of 30 islands. Its climate is humid and warm, over 80% of the soil was formed from geological material Imataca. Park Foundation: Built on the site of the founding of the modern city of Santo Tome de Guayana, now known as Ciudad Guayana. Plaza Bolivar: Work that was opened on 23 July 1984, has a completely different architectural design to other places in Venezuela, with the central figure of the liberator, a replica of the famous work of Italian sculptor Pietro Tenerani which is in Bogotá. In its modern design elements were used typical Guyanese geography: the water of the Orinoco, significant element of social economic development in the area, walls or buttresses which serve as the backdrop to the monument to Bolivar, each of them symbolizes a country liberated by Bolivar .

Plaza Del Hierro: Founded by the Corporacion Venezolana de Guayana, in his anniversary xxv, 29 December 1985. Consists of two iron monoliths brought from the Cerro San Isidro, walkways.

Plaza El Agua: Building opened on December 2, 1997, architectural structure, which is part of the additional works of the hydroelectric complex on January 23. It has a plant area of oak trees, jaracanda, Majoma and guatamare. Stepped surface has a fan-shaped ring featuring a cascading water.

The Source of Energy and Life: Works opened on December 29, 1999, is made by a pedestrian promenade surrounded by green areas of approximately 12 hectares. It has eight water jets and has a light that can be appreciated by visitors at night.

Hydroelectric 23 January - Macagua II: Macagua II, is the first project implementation plan under Caroni, this central Macagua with Guri and I, helping to meet the growing demand for electricity in the country, urban setting is a special recreational and entertainment for the whole community.

Location: Ciudad Guayana, 10 km upstream from the confluence of the Caroni to Orinoco, just off macaw I.

Ecomuseum Del Caroni: part of the hydroelectric Macagua II, attractive building built in a red bucket, comprises the information and documentation center, which conserves collections of works of art that illustrate the phenomena of nature, specifically on the Caroni River Basin. Within the structure of this museum is the Historical Museum of Guyana.

CVG Siderurgica del Orinoco, Sidor: Surge in Guyana from 1926, with the discovery of iron ore deposits in the hills of the Pao and Bolivar. Sidor is the largest industrial complex in Venezuela. Located on the right bank of the Orinoco River, has an area of 2838 hectares.

Location: Matanzas industrial area-Puerto Ordaz.

Ferrominera Orinoco CVG: Starts its operations on 1 January 1976, with the nationalization of the iron ore industry. It is a logging company, processing and selling iron ore to domestic and international markets.
